Donut Breakfast Casserole with Bacon

This make-ahead casserole is the perfect addition to your Christmas morning festivities, allowing you to spend more time with loved ones and less time in the kitchen. By using store bought donuts, you can quickly whip it together right before Santa arrives, so it is ready to pop in the oven Christmas morning, and you get to enjoy your holiday too! You can use precooked bacon or cook some up yourself and it is awesome served with a dusting of powdered sugar or some syrup and a little fruit on the side. If you enjoy bread pudding this is the Christmas morning dish for you!

Christmas In July-Camp MIMIPAPA-Christmas Camp!

Hello! For the last 3 Christmas seasons my cute hubby and I have held what we call Christmas Camp. It is a day where the parents (our adult children and spouses) get to go have fun and do whatever they want, while Mimi and Papa and the Aunties (our Daughters who still live at home) have a day loaded with Christmas arts and crafts and activites. We have the kids from 10AM to 4 PM, and each year we've have a theme. The first year was "the Elf Academy" The second year we went with "The Polar Express" and the third year we did "Winter Wonderland"  This year when the children first arrived, we took pictures for the gift the kids would be giving to their mom and dad for Christmas. (it was a photo tree ornament) and then we read a book. This year it was Snowmen at Night. We also gave each of the kids a bag to keep all the items they would be making during the day.  Following the story we played with Sensory bins. This is always a popular activity! We found

Our Daily Christmas Advent Activities

While my husband and I were discussing with our kids their Christmas memories it became painfully aware to us that, aside from a few very special gifts, our children don't remember much about what the presents have been under the tree from years past.  On the flip side of that they did remember the fun things we have done as a family.  Our traditions meant a lot to them.  It was at this point that we wanted to make an effort to make our time together a priority.  Welcome to the birth of our daily advents....I have had a few requests to see these so here they are. Something I made...An Advent Calendar

I have an obsession of Advent Calendars! Its true.  SO true! This is a new one for this year.  Hardly worth a tutorial.  I just picked up a square plate from wally's and added my vinyl.  It is compatible with a dry erase marker so I will just simply wipe away and write in the new number each morning.  Fun!  (also great for those concerned about eating too many treats this time of year.)   If you'd like a decal let me know and I can hook you up.  They will be in my etsy shop tonight or tomorrow morning.

Starting now to ensure a smooth Holiday Season...My goals for this week.

I am a Christmas NUT! I know some of you may say that this is way to early to be planning for Christmas but trust me I have not made you endure the months of thinking and planning up to now. AHAHAHA!! (my family can testify that this is true) My goal is to have a smooth, peaceful, and enjoyable holiday season.  I DO NOT want to be stressed! I DO NOT want to be running around like a chicken with my head cut off searching for last minute gifts etc.  So here are my goals for this week. I figure even if I don't get them all done every little bit will help in my quest of peace on earth (in my house) and good will to men. (especially the small men and women that I like to call my kids)  When you do start planning your holidays? What have you done already?  I'd love to hear! I love comments!! hint hint..... 1.Review and Tweak my budget so we can avoid over spending which is tempting to me with all the music and decor etc. 2. Start gathering gift ideas for the children, hubby, neighbo

Follow Santa Around the World Officially with NORAD

Norad is short for North American Aerospace Defense.  The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is a bi-national United States and Canadian organization charged with the missions of aerospace warning, aerospace control and maritime warning for North America. Aerospace warning includes the monitoring of man-made objects in space, and the detection, validation, and warning of attack against North America whether by aircraft, missiles, or space vehicles, through mutual support arrangements with other commands. Aerospace control includes ensuring air sovereignty and air defense of the airspace of Canada and the United States. The May 2006 NORAD Agreement renewal added a maritime warning mission, which entails a shared awareness and understanding of the activities conducted in U.S. and Canadian maritime approaches, maritime areas and inland waterways.  Needless to say on Dec 24th flying around the skies is "space vehicle" shall we say and they make this info available
