IT"S GOING TO BE A GREAT SUMMER!!

The next generation of Crafters!

This Saturday is the local UofU verses BYU game and it gets kinda crazy around here!! My 11 year old daughter Gabby couldn't stand the thoughts of having to go to school not all decked out from head to toe in her red and white.  She made these hair pieces last night all by herself from start to finish...I am one proud mama! The smaller one is for her little sister Sarah. What a great girl!  The next generation of crafters coming up behind us are going to blow us away with their skills! I just know it! Sarah and her flower

May's Most Popular Post.....Last Day of School Fun!

It is tradition (don't you know if you do something twice it suddenly becomes tradition LOL) to have a shaving cream fight after school on the last day of school to ring in the summer. Let me just say there is never more fun than can come from 5, buck a piece, shaving cream cans can buy!! I will only allow it that one weekend because it is a big mess to clean up and it does something very odd the the hair. The kids know to get as much out of it as they can, while they can, so needless to say they do. PS we learned that the aloe kind burn a little and will be avoided next year. Why does this friendly gesture look very suspicious? HO HO HO!!

Valentines Day Dinner with Heart/"Strawberry shortcake"

I love celebrating Valentines Day both with our kids and as a couple! My sweet hubby and I decided long ago that our favorite way to honor our love is to get a special date/time alone together that day in trade for all the stuffed animals and trinkets we never really know what to do with and the chocolates that we will, of course, simply eat. (and that's no help with the resolutions)  As for the kids we like to do something small but enough that they know we remembered and love them so very very much!  One of the fun things we have been doing for several years is a  Dessert With Heart/Strawberry shortcake and this year it will be expanding to dinner with a heart. I am thinking with some"hearty" mac and cheese and some "blossoming love" (either broccoli or brussel sprouts)  To make the little hearts is way simple.  Just simply cut at a diagonal and reshape to create the heart. To make "Strawberry shortcake " I use 2 Twinkies frozen strawberries on top

Halloween Funness!! My Princess is A Pumpkin!!

Look what I made for my little Princess!  I felt like since Halloween is on a Sunday this year it would be so cool to have something she could wear to church and I had a ball making this little twirl skirt and appliqued shirt!! I am thinking I may give it a shot in my etsy shop for anyone who wants one too! I have a matching bow and socks coming soon also! I LOVE Halloween!! Although the pumpkin KING is forever more my sweetheart! He gets a real kick out of Halloween every year and I love seeing all he comes up with! I CAN'T WAIT!! Mwah ha ha!!! THE END (get it? HA HA HA!!!)

No More Drips! I love it!

So the other day, I was on the phone with Marth, ( yes we are on a nickname basis, we ARE close like that) yeah OK, and I was saying ya know I hate it when I make ice cream cones and then they melt and get all over the kids and the house and she was like, Oh, Em (notice her calling me my nickname) I will post something on my website just for you!! Thanks Marth! I said. Don't I wish!!! Martha Stewart did put a totally awesome idea up on her website and it felt like it was just for me....Does that count? LOL!!! Here is what she said about how to make a  MARSHMALLOW STOPPER A hole in the bottom of a sugar cone can drain the fun out of eating ice cream (plus, it creates a sticky mess). We've got the scoop on a solution: Plug it up with a mini marshmallow. It will soak up the melting ice cream and provide a sweet finish to the treat. Great Idea Marth! (a girl can dream right? LOL) Check out her other great ideas here!

Christmas Pillow Case Poem

Here is a preview of my plans for this years Black Friday.....I want to give my kids a little gift to start the Christmas holiday off on the evening of black Friday.  This year I want to make them Christmas pillowcases. (yes I will make tutorial if you would like one! Comment and let me know) This poem will be included with the cases. Magical Christmas Pillowcases December 1st starts a magical time With all sorts of colors, ribbons and rhymes. Sugarplum fairies will dance in your head, If you put this special pillowcase on your bed. The reason is special as you will soon see, It’s that it has been dusted with “Christmas Fantasy”, Visions of candy canes, Santa and treasures Will fill each dream with sweetness and pleasures. When the time comes for it to be washed Do it quickly so no magic is lost! (this would also make a great gift for friends and family. Kids and adults alike and it is very inexpensive to put together. )

Magic Grinch Dust

I include a little bag with some green buffalo glitter in the Santa Sack containing all the PJ's with this poem attached for the kids to sprinkle around outside on Christmas Eve. (you could also use green colored sugar if you are concerned about the glitter outside) MAGIC GRINCH DUST!! Don't let the Grinch steal your Christmas. You must be on your guard. Before retiring on Christmas Eve, Sprinkle this dust out on your yard. The Grinch will see your magic dust, And know you've taken great care, To protect your home and family, And keep Christmas joy in the air. Loves to all! Emily
